A proposed illustration for an article on Frans de Waal’s new book, Are We Smart Enough to Know How Smart Animals Are? The author presents evidence that shows animals are capable of much more than we give them credit for. One example was how octopi can use tools. That led me to the idea of them being interested in the same types of tool-use that we are.
