Every two years the International Association of Wildland Firefighters holds a conference for people in the industry to discuss current issues in fighting fires in the world’s wild lands. As humans encroach ever further into the Wildland Urban Interface, the issues have become more concerned with how to keep people safe.
Features
We gave this site a more futuristic feel to strengthen the feeling that the future everyone feared has come to pass. Insurance companies are withdrawing policies for home owners in the WUI, governments are cutting funding and more and more people are moving out of cities into more rural locations.

The site is driven by CTAs that lead users to the information they’re seeking based on the page they’re currently viewing. We minimized the nav and made it responsive by putting it behind a hamburger.
The conference is fueled by exhibitors and sponsors, so a large driver is making it easy for companies to sign up to do both. The draw for attendees is usually who is speaking, as well as the usually somewhat exotic location.
